We are grateful for the trust that electric cooperatives and municipal utilities put in us when we work with them to improve transmission reliability in their communities.
We are proud that our investments in transmission improvements strengthen the electric grid and provide economic benefits where we have a business presence. We complement our business efforts with a philanthropic mission to help the underserved in these communities. We contribute to local food pantries and nonprofits that provide critical resources to those in need. We work to encourage a robust civic life by sponsoring organizations and events that bring people together and encourage community development.
Our charitable giving is strengthened by our people. Our employees make a difference at GridLiance and in the towns and cities where they live and work. We support these efforts by providing paid time off for employees to volunteer and matching gifts to encourage charitable giving. And we leverage team members’ passions to serve by coordinating volunteer activities with local nonprofits.
GridLiance is proud to be one of the top corporate fundraisers for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, the largest Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the world. As a donor- supported volunteer youth mentoring organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star supports youth mentoring programs that change the trajectory of at-risk children.
Through the GridLiance Challenge, GridLiance, its business partners, and others raised more than $150,000 for the nonprofit organization in 2020.
GridLiance also encourages its employees to volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. Nearly 10% of our employees serve as mentors with Irving High School students in North Texas.
