GridLiance Heartland

GridLiance Heartland is a transmission-only utility operating in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) region.

GridLiance Heartland owns high-voltage transmission lines and related substation infrastructure in Illinois and Kentucky. Because of the age and condition of these assets, built more than 50 years ago, several transmission lines are being replaced to maintain the reliability of the transmission service provided to area customers. Since acquiring the assets in March 2020, GridLiance Heartland has begun taking steps to make other upgrades to the assets to ensure they comply with all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) requirements.
